Alper Turan holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Istanbul Technical University and a post-professional M.Arch II degree from Yale University School of Architecture. He works in the fields of architecture, representation, and graphic design. Throughout his career, Alper has worked in award winning design studios in Istanbul and New York. He is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at Tulane University and works with Paula Scher at Pentagram Design on environmental graphics projects for clients such as the Public Theater, Memphis Art Museum, and High Line.
Alper’s teaching and research bridge architecture, graphic design, and digital media: investigating how various tools shape the way we design, draw, and build. Alper's design work has been published in various publications including New York Times, Archinect, Pan Scroll Zoom, Retrospecta, and KoozArch, and has been exhibited at prestigious venues such as the V&A Museum in London and Studio X in Istanbul. Alper remains actively engaged in his independent research and design pursuits through Post-Form, an independent practice he established in 2023. He holds a license to practice architecture in Turkey.

Monster, de-centralized, a drawing produced in collaboration with Doruk Kayali wins the Non-A ReDraw #04: Centre Pompidou Competition.
June 2022:
Alper relocates to inarguably the best neighborhood in the entire world, Brooklyn Heights.
April 2022:
Alper joins Pentagram Design to work on Paula Scher's team.
June 2021:
Upon graduation, Alper starts working as an architectural designer at Workshop/APD.
March 2021:
Retrofuturisms, the inaugural M.Arch II symposium organized with fellow post-pro classmates invites Anna Heringer, John Lin, Xu Tiantian, Lucia Allais, Peggy Deamer, Neyran Turan, Clark Thenhaus, and Liam Young to explore speculative design methodologies and alternative forms of engagement with architecture’s past and future.
July 2019:
Alper moves to the US to start his Master of Architecture II degree in Yale School of Architecture.
July 2018:
Atelier XXI, a sustainable community center project designed with Doruk Kayali, Nida Bilgen, Sena Basgul and Ilayda Memis wins Jury Special Award in Ronesans Surdurulebilir Gelecegi Tasarla Student Competition.
April 2018:
Association of Turkish Architects challenges students to compete in a 48-hour Student Competition. Alper teams up with Doruk Kayali and Nida Bilgen to win the challenge.
September 2016:
Beloved, an installation Alper worked on while interning at Tabanlioglu Architects, is on display at V&A Museum for London Design Festival.
September 2014:
Alper starts his B.Arch degree at Istanbul Technical University.
